Important 5-piece sterling silver tea set with swan finials by Shreve and Stanwood Co., Boston, MA. The set was presented to Lorenzo Sabine, 1803-1877 , by the Boston Board of Trade for his service as Secretary. Sabine was editor of the Eastport, Maine Sentinel, incorporator of Eastport Academy, Maine House of Representatives, 1833-1834, Trail Justice in Framingham, MA, 1848, elected as a Whig to the 32 nd Congress, 1852, and appointed Secretary of the Boston Board of Trade. Lorenzo Sabine also wrote several books, including “The American Loyalists”, “Notes on Duels and Duelling”, “Principals of the American Seas”, and more!
